Rocco Lovering is undergoing physical therapy and radiation/chemo treatment on an outpatient basis. He is able to attend church. Other Fairview members are noted in the bulletin. Please pray for each person.
Church cleanup on May 30th was a success. Many people came and cleaned vigorously, followed by a scrumptous combination pot-luck and some exotic dishes provided by Kris Stapleton. A followup cleanup is planned for the fall of 2009, probably about September 23-26, so stay tuned for an update. Our thanks to all who contributed.
Church council met June 4, 2009 and discussed the upcoming June 14 breakfast and congregational meeting, the upcoming District convention at Concordia June 11-13, ongoing operational expenses, trustee issues (security and houskeeping, mostly), and a proposal to spiffy up the nursury area. Orv is moving into a position of leadership and tackled several vital issues at the meeting. There were vigorous debates on several issues but general agreeance on each at the meeting's end. Minutes will be available from Teri Hassimer soon. Our financial picture and programs are healthy and major expenses appear to be subsiding.
The June 14 congregational meeting will include election of officers for 2009-2010. If you are willing to serve, please contact Orv Yerks.
Pastor Olson will perform the marriage of Kelly Mitchell and Nick Rutz at Fairview on Saturday June 20th at 5:00 pm. Rehersal will commence at 4:00 pm the prior Friday. Sanctuary set-up will occur from 3:00--5:00 on Saturday. The fellowship hall and kitchen are not affected by this ceremony: wedding reception will be off-premises.
Pastor Olson and Philip Allmon are delegates representing Fairview at the District convention. If there are any concerns or issues regarding this convention, please contact either delegate.
The door leading outside from the nursury has been found open a couple of times. If you notice any windows or doors open please contact Warren or Philip right away.
